The castle tower below our hotel is a remnant of a Gothic castle built by Emperor Charles IV around 1358. In 1766, after another fire, the tower was supplemented with an arcaded gallery from which important guests of the spa town were welcomed with fanfare. Later, the spa season was opened from here every year. In 1911, an elevator was added to the rock below the Castle Tower, designed by Friedrich Ohman
